What is Alexandria Pro?
Alexandria Pro takes its name from the ancient Library of Alexandria — the greatest collection of human knowledge the ancient world had ever seen. This device carries that same ambition: the breadth of human knowledge, stored locally, available anywhere.
Alexandria Pro is built on a Raspberry Pi 4. What we've added is everything that turns hardware into a finished, ready-to-use product: our own custom application, hand-selected and pre-loaded content, a 3.5" touchscreen, a keyboard with scroll wheel, and hundreds of hours of configuration and testing so you don't have to. Every unit is assembled and verified by hand before it ships. Plug in a powerbank and you're live in under 60 seconds — the full Wikipedia, detailed offline maps, medical references, Gutenberg classics and repair guides. All stored locally. No internet needed.
On top of that, Alexandria Pro broadcasts its own WiFi hotspot, letting up to 10 phones, tablets or laptops connect simultaneously and access everything through a browser. A village without internet becomes a classroom. A remote expedition gets a full library. A power outage becomes manageable. The screen is convenient — but not essential.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same content as Kiwix?
Yes. The knowledge library is sourced from the same open content as the Kiwix app — Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg, iFixit, and more. The difference is that you don't need to download anything, configure a server, or own a Raspberry Pi yourself — everything is pre-loaded and ready to go.
Does Alexandria Pro have a built-in battery?
The computer itself does not have a built-in battery — it runs off USB-C power and any standard powerbank will work. The included keyboard, however, does have a built-in battery that needs to be charged occasionally.
Do I need a smartphone or laptop to use Alexandria Pro?
No. Alexandria Pro has its own touchscreen and keyboard. You can use it completely standalone. Optionally, other devices can connect via Alexandria's local WiFi network (no internet required).
How many people can use Alexandria Pro at the same time?
Up to 10 devices can connect simultaneously via Alexandria's local WiFi network (no internet required) and use Alexandria Pro in the browser.
Does Alexandria Pro work worldwide?
Yes. Since everything is stored locally, Alexandria Pro works anywhere in the world — as long as you have a power source. No roaming, no signal needed.
How fast does Alexandria Pro start?
From cold boot to usable device takes about 30–60 seconds.
Is Alexandria Pro waterproof?
No. Alexandria Pro should be protected from water, moisture and heavy impacts — best stored in a protective case or dry bag.
Can the content be upgraded?
Yes. When connected to the internet via ethernet cable, Alexandria Pro can check for and install available content updates directly on the device or via the hotspot. As of right now, the knowledge library can be updated. We are working on a feature that will allow the maps to be updated as well.
Why is the 256 GB version only available in English?
The 256 GB version is designed for the English knowledge base — English-language content from Wikipedia, Gutenberg, iFixit, Appropedia and other sources is significantly larger than the German equivalent. All other combinations fit comfortably on 128 GB.
Are Alaska and Hawaii included in the USA maps?
Not yet. The current USA map covers the 48 contiguous states. Alaska and Hawaii will be added in a future update.

love the product
really like this product. It contains so much useful information. its a good addition to my prepper collection. Would be nice if it comes with faraday bag I put it into my own metal case now.

Nice Product
It arrived on time and I was surprised by how much content was on it. Loading is a bit slow sometimes but it shows everything as promised. The touchscreen used with hands is not very receptive but with the stylus and the mousepad it works perfectly fine. Can recommend to anybody who does not want to invest time in building this themselves.
